The industrialisation of Singapore led to the increasing demand for hardware products. As a result, in the early days, Sin Ghee Huat focused on the distribution and supply of general hardware products. Sin Ghee Huat incorporated their Company as a private company limited by shares on 7 March 1977. In the early 1980s, Sin Ghee Huat's Directors made a strategic decision to focus on the sales and distribution of stainless steel products after recognising the intense competition from the general hardware industry, and the growth prospects in the stainless steel industry.
